Hospice House vs home vs hospice wing! I get this question alot--which is better? @Agape_Senior #hospice

no place like home!
Many times when I talk to people about HOSPICE...you know after they have gotten past the idea that HOSPICE doesn't have to mean death tomorrow-- Hospice actually offers a service to people with life limiting diseases when not treated would result in death in six months are less-- these services offered can include- at no extra charge-- (Medicare and more insurances pay 100%)-

You receive your own personal
  • Social worker
  • Chaplain
  • C.N.A.
  • RN
  • MD still taking care of your needs
  • RX assistance
Oh wait- back to hospice house vs. your home, hospice wing-

Hospice House- Agape Senior has a hospice house in Columbia that is dedicated solely to patients who may be in their final stages of life-- during the transition time.  It is a environment that is dedicated solely to take care of the patient & the entire family.

Home- I always think back to my grandmother who made the choice very early on to have the option to die in her own home, in her own bed-- we allowed her wishes to be exactly as she wanted!

Hospice Wing- Our local Agape Senior has a Hospice Wing- inside of our nursing & rehab facility.  The wing is dedicated to taking care of the patient and the entire family in a private room that provides 3 meals a day for the patient if they are eating and the extended family, snack trays, fridge access in room or in family room-- a private family room and other great perks.

We realize that going through the transition is different for everyone, but keep in mind that people--whether it be family, friends or nurses-- they take care of people-- not buildings!  have the conversation with your family-- like my grandma did!!
