A few months ago I met a lady who I thought was one of the sweetest ladies I knew. She was always in such a great mood. She was always very well mannered. She was always welcoming and had a word to say about "just how good God was to her"-- you see she-- just like all of us knew she was going to die, but she like all of us just didn't know when. She knew whenever she went she would be ready. Her son & daughter-in-law were phenomenal-- visiting daily. Her church family was phenomenal-- they visited often-- her Pastor was phenomenal-- he visited often.
Today as I listened at her funeral I saw why they were so PHENOMENAL. Pastor read out of Proverbs 31-- he often reminded us that she had already planned her entire funeral-- she knew who was to sing, who was to pray and how it was to be done. Her biggest concern was to be sure GOD received all the GLORY and that she didn't receive any of it. You see she was 93 years old and had taught Sunday school for 50 years with perfect attendance-- (we be whining about going 3 weeks in a row)-- she worked for 23 years with her hands, she kept dinner on the table for her husband and son, she kept her home in order both spiritually and cleanliness. She was married for over 60 years to the same man who preceded her in death by less than a week! She loved the Lord with all her heart and her church family and blood family knew. There were few tears today for her because she had made it clear there should not be any!!! Her Pastor closed by telling the family and her Sunday School class that -- she was now teaching in the best class of them all in heaven.
I think I met a REAL live Proverbs 31 lady!!! Rest in peace Mrs."Belle"--
