When is it time to ask for HELP--the time is NOW-- even if your loved one is in the early stages it is time to EDUCATE yourself before it is to late.
I still remember a couple of years ago watching on the news with the family who their mother had just been diagnosed with ALZ (wandering) -- she wandered out of the home right onto I-85 and was killed when she was hit by two 18-wheelers, but at one point she was "just a wanderer" Story here
A family said that to me-- well he only wandered once. It only takes once. Get the education you need NOW!!!
A few things to watch for:
Remember you don't have to have a physician "to evaluate and talk"-- you need the physician order to ADMIT-- that part I can work with you to get. Let's talk first and go from there.
Hospice in the home can provide:
- Daily assistance from a CNA
- Weekly visit from RN
- Chaplain services
- Social Worker assistance
- Animal therapy, Music Therapy
- Several other options all based on the needs of your family
